Raphael Varane footage from inside France dressing room exactly what Man Utd fans want

Manchester United fans are ecstatic about new signing Raphael Varane’s upcoming announcement and secret video footage from the French dressing room shows exactly why.

The four-time Champions League winner was linked with the Red Devils for a decade before finally completing his £41million move from Real Madrid this summer.

And the United faithful cannot wait, having stumbled upon a video which shows Varane demonstrating his leadership qualities while on French national team duty.

In the footage, Varane can be seen rallying his fellow France players in the dressing room at half-time during the World Cup final against Croatia in 2018.

Raphael Varane is a real leader in the dressing room

France were 2-1 up following an Antoine Griezmann penalty but had played well below the standards they were capable of.

Up stepped Varane, aged 25, to lift his teammates with a rousing speech before France went on to secure their second World Cup with a 4-2 victory.

He says in the clip: “Don’t get too worked up about positioning. Guys, it’s in your head. Be positive, believe in it.

“We’re going to win guys. We’re going to win this match!

The defender then slams the table, yelling: “We’re going to win guys, 45 minutes, flat-out. Come on!”

United fans have reacted to the clip ahead of his delayed announcement as an Old Trafford player, after COVID-19 isolation and a wait for a visa prevented him from meeting up with the rest of the squad earlier.

One fan commented on Twitter: “No disrespect to anyone in the squad but this is EXACTLY what we need!

“No one bar Pogba has the mentality in the big games to step up and delivery for his teammates in the dressing room and performs on the pitch. Elite mentality.”

Raphael Varane has plenty of experience at the top level Manchester United can use, shown by his time with France

The Red Devils will hope Varane can add a winning edge to the side, who have not won a trophy under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and lost out in the Europa League final last season after a flat display.

Varane’s experience in high-pressure situations will be valuable as Solskjaer’s side look to mount the pressure on rivals Manchester City for the Premier League title.
